December 2018

A gourmet trip on made in Italy flavour

Flavours and quality of typical Tuscan cuisine are as ancient as the region itself. The perfect combination of country products and the wise of work of man is not easy to compare to any other in the world.

It should be enough to think of the great Tuscan wines, extra-virgin olive oil, Tuscan pecorino cheese or the local pig cinta senese. These products, used in the kitchen of the best Tuscan restaurants, could create those traditional recipes characterizing Tuscan cuisine.

Traditional food, but not only that: in Tuscany you have cooking excellence at all its levels, as you can find the new Michelin Guide 2019, one of the best selections for gastronomy in the world. In fact, in the region there are 36 restaurants with at least one star Michelin.

In Florence, Enoteca Pinchiorri in Via Ghibellina with the chefs Riccardo Monco and Annie Féolde confirms once again its three stars, as also the one-star for: Borgo San Jacopo on the same named street, La Bottega del Buon Caffè in Lungarno Benvenuto Cellini, La Leggenda dei Frati at Villa Bardini, L’Ora d’Aria in Via dei Georgofili, Il Palagio at Four Seasons Hotel in Borgo Pinti, the Winter Garden by Caino at Saint Regis Hotel on Piazza Ognissanti.

Out of the historical center of Florence, here you have all the others Michelin star restaurants in Tuscany:

Arezzo: Il Falconiere in Cortona.

Firenze: La Torre in Tavarnelle Val di Pesa, Osteria di Passignano in Badia a Passignano, La Tenda Rossa in Cerbaia in Val di Pesa.

Grosseto: Il Pellicano in Porto Ercole, La Trattoria di Enrico Bartolini at L’Andana Hotel in Castiglione della Pescaia, Silene in Seggiano, Bracali in Massa Marittima and Caino in Montemerano (both with two stars).

Lucca: Giglio in Lucca, Bistrot, La Magnolia, Lorenzo and Lux Lucis in Forte dei Marmi, Butterfly in Marlia, Romano in Viareggio,  Il Piccolo Principe at Grand Hotel Principe di Piemonte in Viareggio (two stars).

Siena region is one of the most awarded in Italy, with 10 restaurants. La Bottega del 30, in the little village of Villa a Sesta, recived the special prize “Long time quality” for being one of the first restaurants to be awarded by Michelin in Italy.

In Tuscany, a region where you find plenty of luxury experiences, even cuisine could reach a special refinement. From Chianti to San Gimignano, from Val di Merse to Val d’Orcia, you can find everywhere a top class restaurant that gives you the chance to savor traditional Tuscan food often revised in a contemporary way by an international chef.
